Hi I have rented a car today from from ACE, S conduit, JFK, NY. They forced me an insurance @ USD 16+ per day for five days. It was not the first time I am renting a car in USA but this kind of enforced insurance was observed first time. This is despite I giving my credit card details which has credit limit more than the car itself. I as well as my family members are fully insured being foreign representatives in USA. But certainly it was a fleecing. The customer has no other option left after reaching to the remotely located ACE car rental. The manager Kay bluntly told me that I can cancel my booking. It means they were ready to ditch a customer. It was a nightmarish experience with this particular center. It delayed me by one hour approximately. Also the car handed over to me has technical problem of Low pressure in Left rear tire and i was not informed about this. I returned back to the center from a long distance after finding this fault. I have booked from ACE earlier but was never cheated so openly. This center is involved in cheating customer. I am neither going to ACR again nor recommend it to anyone. Rather I will tell them to stay away from the ACE in general and this center in particular.
Scammers!! We booked a reservation for Ace rent a car through Priceline online , was supposed to be the best rates in the area $177 for 5 days. When we arrived the employee said he "found our reservation" asked my husband to sign a BLANK digital screen, not mentioning the price or any new add ons once. Unfortunately we assumed the prices would be the same as online since he wasn't talking about the price or quoting it. Then he printed off the receipt with a total of $678. I asked him about the added charges and he waved me away asking for the next customer. Completely aweful experience. We argued with him and customer service online. Received a $200 deposit fee back(says no where on the receipt that it's a deposit) still paid over $400 for what was supposed to be $177. He threw on any additional things he could like the insurance we did not need since our insurance covers rentals or the toll fee unlimited and did not tell us about it. Scammed...we were scammed.

This rental experience was absolutely horrible. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My rental vehicle died on me 2 hours after receipt of the vehicle (check engine light came on, called them and they told me to come back, then car completely died on me). Customer service was horrible, as I was interrupted by multiple representatives of the company. I’m still waiting for my full refund I was told I would be receiving, as well - 9 days later.

I put one star because I couldn't put 0... Unacceptable, we ordered a car for 10.30am, at 11am we called and the man said he would be there in 2 or 3 hours. So we waited because we had no accommodation, in vain all day because he never answered again! And we have no more news. I don't even understand how it's possible to claim to rent cars with people like them! I absolutely do not recommend
Get to the customer service window where they try to upsell you, which is expected. I Clearly said no to the insurance and car upgrade. Rented through wisecars. Ace said Wisecars was not paid. So we sign the documents. Later realize that what they charged us for was additional insurance and I did indeed already pay Wisecars. The insurance cost more than the car rental! My fault for not reading all the documents, which I usually do, but it takes about 30 minutes to rent the car and I just wanted to get out of there. Long story short they would not credit the insurance back to us. They said they were going to "review the tapes". However when I requested a copy I didn't receive them. Make sure you read agreement. Shady!

Complete disaster! WARNING: Do Not Use ACE or WISECARS! Total chaos at the pickup counter! Over a 3 hour line to try and pickup a car we had already reserved and PRE-paid for. NEVER EVER USE this company again!!! Should be illegal to do what they did!

Avoid. Bait and switch. Got charged extra, blatantly lied to and did not get the car I reserved. Waited in line for over an hour just to pick up a car. I thought I would try something new. I have been spoiled by Silvercar, Sixt and Avis. I going mainstream rental companies and staying there.
Stood in a long slow moving line. Waited over an hour and a half to get a car. The car I reserved was not available and they provided me with a subpar car. There was confusion, incompetence and technical issues with their equipment. The staff was unapologetic for the inconveniences.
Awful experience, on the website we chose the dealers special which states a mid level sedan or better. When I arrived they only had vans available and one Nissan Versa. The Versa seats did recline and was in average condition. When asked why we paid the premium price to receive a verse they said that’s all they got.
The entire experience was horrendous. The company does not have enough agents to handle the load of the check in/check out process. The line was slow moving and backed up when one of the agents decided it was time to take her break. Really?!? There were multiple parties in line at the time and it was already taking too long! They failed to mention the car they provided me with was without its license plate! Why would it even have been removed in the first place? Staff were clear unhappy. Unpleasant experience all the way around.
Rented from Ace at their Denver location. It was far from airport and the shuttle took a long time to arrive. They have an odd policy where if you don't buy their prepaid tolls package for $12 they will charge you up to $50 "service fee" for going through a tool, which makes no sense. Clerk lied about how much the prepaid gas would cost. The car was really dirty inside and out. Not able to take the car out of state. You'll save a few bucks with Ace but it's not worth it given how the company is run.
